The HSE Event Safety Guide states "Plan the provision of medical, ambulance and first aid services along with the statutory services and appoint a competent organisation to provide medical management." It also states "the appointed organisation should be experienced in the medical management of similar events".
1st Response Medical Service is such as organisation and can provide medical, ambulance and first aid cover ranging from basic first aid through to paramedic support in Reading, Berkshire, Oxforshire, Hampshire and throughout the Thames Valley.
Basic Cover is provided by Emergency Care Assistances/First Responders who have been trained in advanced first aid including AED and medical gases.
Advanced cover is provided by EMTs, IHCD Technicians and student paramedics.
Paramedic cover is provided by HPC registered Paramedics including all equipment that they are able to use.
Doctors are also available for events that require that level of cover.
All staff are trained to use the equipment they carry and all vehicles are fully equiped to provide the best possible medical cover for your events.
Transport and Vehicles
We can provide a full range of vehicles from bicycles, 4×4 response vehicles and fully equipped ambulances. The level of vehicle depends on the requirements and can include covert as well as fully marked vehicles.
All of our vehicles are insured for emergency use and our drivers are fully trained and experienced in providing these types of services.
What cover do you need?
The Health and Safety Executive has clear guidelines on the number of first aiders, Technicians, Paramedics, Doctors and Nurses required to provide first aid cover at public and private events. The first stage is to perform a risk assessment to determine the exact number required, plus the need to liaise with local NHS resources such as the local NHS Ambulance Service and Hospitals. By engaging 1st Response Medical Services as your event first aid provider, we manage all aspect of first aid cover from initial concept of the event through to the last member of staff leaving after the event.
